LOCATIONS
The following are the locations used in the musical. These locations can be actual set creations, or the set can be minimalist, with 'suggestion' of the location with a few items per set
A STREET IN EAST GERMANY
This is where the opening takes place, the parade, the demonstrations, and the finale
FARM
The farm where Hans works in the field. There is a windmill that hasn't worked in years, yet it begins to spin shortly after Hans dies, a symbol of the 'winds of change blowing through East Germany'
BARN
The place Angelika takes refuge from East Germany to be alone and dream of freedom and worldly fame
UNCLE HEINZ' GARAGE
Garage where Uncle Heinz lives and works
EAST GERMAN PUB
The bar where Angelika meets Josh. Josh takes the stage to play a western song for the crowd

A movable Berlin Wall
The musical uses the concept of a movable section of the Berlin Wall, a wall that is grey on one side (east) and graffitied on the other side (west), with barbed wire running along the top. This divides the stage into S.L. and S.R. It will be on rollers and can be moved around the stage as required

USE OF A PROJECTION SCREEN
The musical would use a screen on which to project newspaper headlines throughout the show. It can also be used to project live film footage which can make the screen an extension of the stage, or give historical context. It would be positioned upstage and behind and above any sets on the stage
